Welcome to the Natural Language Processing & Data Science Research (NITA NLP-DS) Group at the CSE Department of NIT Agartala! We are a passionate and inclusive team comprising students, faculty, and research engineers dedicated to advancing the field of NLP and Data Science. Our collaborative efforts focus on developing algorithms that enable computers to process, generate, and understand human languages. Our research interests span a wide array of topics, including computational linguistics, Formal and informal text, machine learning, Data Science, and practical applications of human language technology. We also engage in interdisciplinary work involving computational social science and cognitive science.

Our group is committed to pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence by developing novel algorithms, designing new frameworks, and investigating the theoretical foundations of language understanding. We leverage cutting-edge techniques such as deep neural networks and reinforcement learning to address complex language processing challenges. Our recent research efforts have targeted areas such as text summarization, Textual entailment, social media text analysis, code-mixed text analysis, language grounding, knowledge representation and reasoning, representation learning, and algorithms for learning from weak supervision.

Additionally, we are devoted to creating different language processing tools for the broader community such as annotation tools, and sentence identification tools for social media text for facilitating a wide range of NLP tasks. At the NLP & DS Group of NIT Agartala, we strive to advance the field of NLP while contributing valuable resources and knowledge to the scientific community.
